I had a variety of office jobs throughout my adult life & made a good living, but felt unfulfilled. I wanted to work for myself & to do something good for people, not just for a company.
My Dad was a florist, so my memories of delivering flowers & seeing the recipient's face light up have stuck with me. Having received regular massages for several years, I knew the benefits from personal experience. I wanted to make others feel that good.
In addition, I have always been interested in health, especially natural approaches. The massage profession is one that promotes health, both spiritual & physical well-being, so it was a perfect fit for me. As soon as I started school, I knew I had found the right path.

2016 Graduate of Southside Virginia Community College - Massage Therapy Studies, Alberta, VA
As a competitive athlete in high school, I experienced shin splints during my first season as a cross country runner. I looked to massage therapy to relieve my shin splints. As a patient, I experienced the relaxing effects and pain relief.
In 2015, I graduated from Park View High School and from Southside Virginia Community College with my Associate of Arts and Science with a major in General Studies. I continued my education at Southside Virginia Community College and graduated in May 2016 with my Massage Therapy Career Studies Certificate.
I use Swedish massage techniques for relaxation combined with pressure to get deeper into the muscles to release toxins that have built up. I have always enjoyed helping people who were in need and working as a licensed massage therapist gives me that opportunity to do so. As a licensed massage therapist, I plan to help the massage therapy field grow by helping my clients experience the relaxing benefits of a massage like I did when I was a patient.
